Secunderabad, India–Dec. __, 2008–Matrix Laboratories Limited today announced the appointment of S. Srinivasan as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Matrix also named B. Hari Babu, Ph.D., Chief Operating Officer (COO). Both appointments become effective Jan. 1, 2009.
Matrix Chairman Robert J. Coury commented: “In recent years, Srinivasan has played an instrumental role in helping to advance Matrix’s API business and in building its leading antiretroviral franchise. With 20 years in the international generic pharmaceutical industry, including 15 years at Matrix, he has gained extensive experience with strategic planning and business operations at the highest level.”
Coury continued: “With 19 years of industrial and research experience, Dr. Babu has also played an invaluable role within Matrix. He has been with the company since 2000 and currently serves as Matrix’s executive vice president of API Technical Operations responsible for API R&D, manufacturing and supply chain at the global level. He consistently has demonstrated the ability to lead and motivate other scientists and to adapt to our dynamic and constantly evolving industry.”
Jagdish Dore’, Matrix’s current Managing Director and CEO, is stepping down from this position, effective December 31, 2008.
Coury added: “We want to thank Jagdish for his leadership and service. We look forward to collaborating with Jagdish in a new capacity so that we can continue to benefit from his advice and expertise.”
In addition to the executive transition, Srinivasan will replace Dore’ on Matrix’s Board of Directors effective January 1, 2009.
